
The 4+1 Audience Award for Best Picture is decided by direct votes from members of the audience at each of the Festival’s five venues. At the end of each screening, viewers fill out a ballot indicating their evaluation of the film they’ve just seen. The winner is chosen after tallying up all the ballots.
The 4+1 Audience Award for Best Picture is endowed with twenty thousand Euros and a sculpture by artist Alfredo García Revuelta (Madrid, 1961). The sculpture is made of polychrome aluminum and pays homage to film as a work of art, reflecting the enormous effort it takes to create a these works and the intense and painstaking relationship between directors and their films. García Revuelta, who defines himself as an “artist at heart, a citizen of the world and a tireless traveler,” is one of the most outstanding Spanish artists of his generation.
