SYNOPSIS:
Some films are so full of good intentions that they end up smothered under their weight. Certain social films are so concerned about the issue at hand that cinematographic matters are left aside. Morgen could have been one of these films; it could have become just another of the many protest films that help clear the audience’s conscience by cluttering up the screen with their porno-misery. However, Morgen is none of that, in fact, it’s just the opposite: It is clear proof that film has not yet lost its ability to protest, portray and take a political stance without forgetting that it is film. Even more than that: Morgen is proof that film can gain strength by protesting against reality and come out all the stronger for it. With a fine sense of humor, and without losing sight of the background of a Europe that looks askance at those hoping to work here, Morgen emerges as a film about friendship as well as a social protest film. (Gonzalo de Pedro Amatria)
